Maybe you don’t feel your best. (who does?)
Maybe you’re unsure of how you’ll look.
Maybe you’re wondering if it’s even worth it.
Maybe this journey has been harder than you expected.

Whatever your reasons for hesitating… I understand them.

But, as a mom, I can promise you this:
you will be SO glad you did.

If you are in the Portland, Salem, or anywhere in the Willamette Valley, keep reading! I would love to capture this season for you.

Why This Season Is Worth Remembering

Let’s be honest.
Getting pregnancy photos done is something you might have to talk yourself into.

I did… and I’m a photographer.

When I was pregnant with my twins, the last thing I wanted to do was get out of my pajamas, do my hair and makeup, and get dressed up. I was exhausted. And if you’re here, you probably get that.

But I am so glad I did.

There is so much beauty in pregnancy… even when you can’t see it. Even when you don’t feel your best. Even when your body feels unfamiliar and just getting out the door feels like a lot.

This is just one hour of your time.
And what you get back lasts forever.

The moment your baby arrives, something shifts. And more often than not, there’s this quiet thought: “I’m really glad I did that.” Pregnancy is an accomplishment.

It’s strength. It’s endurance. It’s grit.

For some, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
For others, it’s a journey that didn’t come easy.

It deserves to be honored.

This season… the anticipation, the wondering, the dreaming…it’s unlike any other human experience.

And it’s worth remembering.

So let me help you see your beauty in it… and create something you’ll hold onto forever.

I’ve got you, mama.

Studio & Outdoor Maternity Session Options

Studio Maternity Photography Sessions

Pregnant woman in green dress posing in studio, elegant maternity portrait with soft neutral arch backdrop

Held in my Salem, Oregon studio around 10am, these sessions are calm, cozy, and fully guided from start to finish. Soft light, neutral tones, and a relaxed pace create a space where you can truly slow down and just be in the moment.

Your session will last about an hour, giving us plenty of time to move through a variety of looks without ever feeling rushed. I offer multiple backdrop options and setups, all designed to keep your images timeless and focused on connection.

You’ll also have access to my client closet, with a curated selection of dresses that photograph beautifully and take the pressure off figuring out what to wear.

Because of the space and the nature of a more intimate, studio setting, these sessions are best suited for mom, partner, and younger children. Larger family groupings are typically a better fit for outdoor sessions.

Everything is designed to feel simple, comfortable, and taken care of… so you can walk in, breathe, and let me handle the rest.

Outdoor Maternity Photography Sessions

These sessions take place about 2 hours before sunset at beautiful locations in and around Salem. If you know of a beautiful area towards Portland, let me know! This is when the light is soft, golden, and incredibly flattering… the kind of light that adds warmth and depth to your images in a way nothing else can.

Because of that, session times shift throughout the year. In the summer months, this will mean a later evening start time, while in the fall, sessions begin earlier as the sun sets sooner.

Outdoor sessions tend to feel a bit more open and relaxed. There’s more room for movement, connection, and natural interaction… walking, gentle prompts, and those in-between moments that often end up being favorites.

And of course, Oregon weather likes to keep us on our toes.

If we happen to get rained out, we simply reschedule. No stress, no pressure.

This is also one of the reasons I recommend scheduling your maternity session around 33–35 weeks. It gives us a little breathing room… so if weather, illness, or life happens, we still have time to adjust without feeling rushed.

Everything is planned with intention, but always with flexibility… so you can enjoy the experience without worrying about the “what ifs.”

Not Sure Which to Choose?

I’m happy to help guide which one will be best for you based on your style, comfort level, and of course time of year.

Maternity Photography FAQs

  • Maternity sessions are usually scheduled around 33–35 weeks, just in case baby arrives early and before things feel too uncomfortable. This also gives us time to reschedule if we get rained out.

For multiples, I recommend closer to 29–30 weeks.

  • Both options are available depending on time of year, and/or preference.

Studio sessions take place around 10am.
Outdoor sessions are scheduled about 2 hours before sunset at locations in and around Salem.

  • Absolutely. Partners and children are always welcome.

  • Yes. I’ll guide you on what photographs beautifully and what to avoid, based on your session type.

  • Of course. That’s my job. I’ll guide you every step of the way, and make sure you look incredible.

  • Everything is professionally and extensively edited, including skin, flyaways, dress adjustments, and more. You can also request specific edits when placing your order.

Still have questions? Take a look at the FAQ or reach out anytime. I am here to help you get excited, and calm any worries about the process.

Thinking Ahead to Newborn & Baby photos

Most families who book maternity photos continue on with newborn and baby milestone sessions as well… because once your little one arrives, time suddenly starts moving much too fast.

Documenting these seasons together allows you to tell the full story. From the anticipation of pregnancy, to those tiny newborn details, to all the smiles and personality that follow in that first year.

NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

They’re only this small once. The first few weeks fly by, and even though you think you'll remember everything, you won’t. Let me help you remember how they felt in your arms. Their scrunched up faces, and little yawns. It’s all worth remembering.

PACKAGE DEAL: When you reserve both your maternity and newborn sessions at the same time, you’ll receive a $300 savings applied to your overall experience.

Most families choose to do this simply to ensure availability… but it also makes planning this entire season feel a little more seamless from the start.

BABY MILESTONE PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

PACKAGE DEAL:  When you reserve both a 6 Month and 1 Year Session at the same time, you’ll receive an additional $300 savings as well!

This is such a great way to ensure that you make this a priority before the sleepless nights take over.
