SO IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO:
1. Offers Tangible Memories
I wish I could tell you that you will remember every detail from those first few weeks home with your baby. But between the sleepless nights, the new routines, and the beautiful overwhelm of caring for a newborn, so much slips away.
Newborns change quickly. (Too quickly in my opinion.) And that tiny sound you thought they would always make is gone before you even realize it. The little scrunch in their forehead when they cry, the way their body melted into your chest, the softness of their hair against your cheek. These are the moments you imagine you’ll hold on to forever, but time has a way of blurring them.
2. Tends to Every Detail
As a newborn photographer, my work is truly about more than capturing images. It’s about understanding what matters most to you. Is it the close-up details of your baby’s fingers and toes, or the quiet moments of you snuggled together? We talk through all of this before your session so I can create newborn portraits that reflect what you want to remember.
Then, with my curated line of fine-art prints, linen albums, keepsake boxes, and custom wall art, your memories won’t just live on a screen. They will live in your home, woven into your family’s daily life.
And the best news is… you don’t have to do a thing.
3. Is a True Baby Whisperer
Being a “baby whisperer” is more than a cute nickname. It means I’ve spent years learning the quiet language of newborns the tiny cues, the rhythms of their breath, the shifts they make to settle themselves. I know how to hold them so they feel secure, how to ease them into restful poses, and how to guide a session with calm, confident hands.
My work has been shaped by hundreds of little ones in my Salem Oregon newborn studio, and with each baby I’ve refined an approach that is gentle, instinctive, and deeply reassuring. Most parents tell me it feels like I’ve known them and their baby forever and that’s exactly the experience I want for you.
4. Offers An Experience You Can Trust
For almost thirteen years, I have photographed nearly a thousand newborns in my cozy Salem Oregon photography studio, serving families from Portland, Eugene, and throughout the Willamette Valley. Parents trust me to keep their little ones comfortable and cared for while creating an experience that is calm, meaningful, and truly special.
From guiding you through poses to helping you select the perfect artwork for your home, I take care of every detail.
If you are looking for a newborn photographer in Salem, Portland, or the Willamette Valley who will care for your baby as tenderly as her own and who will create both images and heirlooms you’ll treasure for a lifetime you’ve found her.

Frequently Asked Questions
I always suggest reaching out around the halfway point of pregnancy, usually near the 20 week mark. That’s when most mamas feel settled into their second trimester and ready to start planning the beautiful things ahead.
Keep in mind, I only take a limited number of due dates each month so my calendar stays flexible for early or late arrivals. Because of that, my schedule fills quickly. If you already know you want these fleeting moments photographed, reaching out sooner ensures you’re held gently on my calendar long before baby makes their debut.
When should I reach out to ensure a spot in your schedule?
Most newborn sessions happen when baby is between 7 and 14 days old, when they’re still in that dreamy, sleepy stage that allows for those curled up poses everyone loves.
But every baby writes their own story. And if you end up needing more time to recover or settle in, there is always room for that. I create space in my schedule for flexibility because your wellbeing and baby’s comfort always come first.
How soon after birth should newborn photos be taken?
Absolutely. Welcoming a new baby is a family story, and I love documenting that connection. Parent and sibling images are always available if you choose. These portraits often become some of the most cherished because they capture the beginning of a new chapter together.
Can parents and siblings be included in the session?
Newborn sessions typically last between two and three hours. This slower pace allows plenty of time for feeding, soothing, diaper changes, and snuggles. We follow baby’s cues and let them lead the rhythm of the session so everything feels calm, comfortable, and unhurried.
How long does a newborn session usually last?
This is completely normal and expected. I have photographed hundreds of babies, and I’ve seen every mood and rhythm possible. Nothing surprises me. I allow plenty of time for feeding and settling, and I use soothing techniques and gentle posing that help baby feel secure. I will offer guidance and schedule recommendations for the morning of your session as well, so that when you arrive baby is ready to go.
What if my baby is fussy, cluster feeding, or won’t sleep?
Yes. Once you book, I send wardrobe suggestions that keep everything soft, timeless, and flattering. I also offer a client closet of beautiful, neutral-toned gowns for mamas, and I help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully and complement your baby’s session.
Do you provide guidance on what parents should wear?
Truly nothing beyond the essentials for feeding and comforting your baby. Your diaper bag, milk or bottles, and anything necessary for their routine is perfect. I handle everything else. My studio is fully stocked with curated props, hand-selected wraps, boutique outfits, bonnets, headbands, soft blankets, and cozy textures so you never have to pack or purchase a thing.
Your only job is to arrive, breathe, and settle into the sweetness of the moment. I’ll guide the rest.
What do I need to bring to the session?
I plan for the unpredictability. Once you book, I reserve your due date on my calendar, holding space for you without locking in an exact session date.
When baby is born, you simply send me a quick message, and I will send you a few options for dates for your session. Whether your little one arrives early, right on time, or fashionably late, you’re still guaranteed a spot. This approach allows everything to unfold naturally, without stress or pressure.
Since babies arrive on their own schedule, how does scheduling work?
Around a week after your session, will be your ordering appointement. This can be done in my studio or on zoom. This is where you will see your images for the first time. After viewing your images, you’ll select your favorites and choose your heirloom products such as albums, keepsake boxes, or fine art prints. I walk you through the entire process so it feels simple and enjoyable.
When will we receive our images and order our products?
Of course! While my focus leans fully into creating tangible, heirloom pieces you can hold and enjoy in your home, I know the comfort that comes with having digital copies for safekeeping.
Every portrait you purchase as a printed product includes its matching, fully retouched digital file. This way, you receive the best of both worlds… art you can display and treasure daily, and digital files tucked safely away for the years still ahead.
