Timeless Family Photography in Salem, Oregon

For You. For Them.

For A Lifetime Of Memories.

BECAUSE IN YOUR HEART, YOU KNOW THAT

SOMEDAY YOU WILL MISS THIS

I get it.
Life is busy.
Work is demanding.
Your calendar fills faster than it clears.

But your children keep growing…
quietly, right in front of you.

The loud dinners. The wild toddler energy. The baby who still reaches for you at the end of the day. Teenagers who never stop. Whatever season you are in, it most likely feels full, maybe even overwhelming at times. But you know that one day in the future, it will be the exact same season you’d give anything to relive. As a Salem, Oregon family photographer, I believe the fullest and most exhausting seasons are the ones worth preserving. Because those are the ones when we are maybe not as aware of the changes, or the beauty happening all around us. We may not feel it in the moment, because we are in survival mode, but you will later. Later when life slows down, you will think back and remember the joy and laugher.

We aren’t promised forever. No one is. So all we can do is give it our best effort to ensure that us and our loved ones around us will never say…

"I just wish we had taken
more photos together.”

THIS is why I am here for you, and why I do what I do. If you know in your heart that this season you're in, is one that you will miss someday, I would love to hear from you. Sessions with me are so easy, and fun, kids and babies love me, and I promise to find your beauty and your tender moments with the people you love most in the world.

So even if your days feel hard right now.
Even if you feel overwhelmed.
You will never regret these memories.

A FAMILY SESSION THAT FEELS EASY, NATURAL, AND ACTUALLY ENJOYABLE

Life already asks a lot from you.

Your photo session shouldn’t.

From the moment you book, everything is designed to feel simple and supported. You’ll receive guidance on what to wear, how to prepare, and what to expect, so you’re never left guessing.

When you arrive, there’s no pressure for perfect behavior or forced smiles. We move, we play, we pause when needed. I gently guide you the entire time so you’re never wondering what to do with your hands or how to stand.

The result? Photos that feel like your family. Not stiff. Not staged. Just honest, connected, and full of life.

THE BEAUTIFUL, REAL MOMENTS THAT MAKE YOUR FAMILY UNIQUELY YOURS

Perfectly imperfect. That’s how I would describe my own family. And probably yours too.

You don’t need perfectly behaved children to have beautiful photos. In fact, the more themselves they are, the better your images. Seriously.

There are sweet hugs and forehead kisses. And there are kids running in opposite directions. There is laughter. Chaos. The in-between moments that feel small now but will mean everything later.

Toddlers can be wild. Big kids can be moody. Babies can be unpredictable. That’s not something we fight against. It’s something we work with. And the reason outdoor family sessions are ideal. There is room to run, and play, and things to look at and enjoy.

Some moments are calm and snuggly. Others are full of movement and laughter. And sometimes… a little chaos never hurts. That’s where the magic lives.

Messy? Yes.
Imperfect? Sure.

But don’t forget the love. Because that’s what I am seeing.

As a family photographer serving Salem, Portland, and the Willamette Valley, I focus on connection. Not perfection.

CONNECTION MATTERS MORE THAN COOPERATION

Your children do not need to sit still, smile perfectly, or behave on cue to create beautiful family photos.

In fact, some of the most meaningful images happen in the middle of movement, laughter, and even a little resistance.

As a Salem, Oregon family photographer, I am not looking for perfectly posed moments. I am watching for connection.

The way your child wraps their arms around your neck. The way you instinctively reach for their hand. The way your family leans into one another without even thinking. That is what makes professional family photography timeless.

YOU SIMPLY BRING YOUR LOVE. I’LL TAKE CARE OF THE REST.

You already have everything we need. The history. The inside jokes. The way your baby melts into your chest at the end of a long day.

My role as your family photographer in Salem and the Willamette Valley is simply to guide you gently, create space for natural interaction, and preserve what is already there.

You do not need to manage the kids, force smiles, or stress about the details.

You show up as a family. I take care of the light, the movement, and the moments that become heirloom artwork in your home.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AFTER YOUR SESSION

About a week after your session, you’ll receive an online proofing gallery of your images.

From the comfort of your home, you’ll choose your favorites and select the collection that fits your family best.

You’ll also have the option to purchase prints, albums, and artwork designed to live in your home, not just on your phone.

Because these moments deserve more.

  • I will choose a location for us in or around Salem, about 2 hours before sunset when the light is soft, warm, and incredibly flattering.

I have a variety of go-to spots that photograph beautifully and work well for families, so you don’t have to stress about finding the “perfect” place. That said, I am always open to ideas if you have a location that feels meaningful to you.

  • Rain is always a possibility here in Oregon, but I keep a close eye on the weather in the days leading up to your session and will stay in touch if anything looks uncertain. This is the reason I only book Family Sessions June-October.

Cloudy skies are completely fine (and often beautiful), but if it’s actively raining, we will simply reschedule for the soonest available date. I always leave a little flexibility in my schedule for this, so there’s no added stress on your end.

  • I offer Family Sessions from June through October to take advantage of Oregon’s best weather and the most consistent light.

Summer sessions tend to be later in the evening, while fall sessions start earlier and bring those warm, cozy tones. If you have a preference for a certain look or season, I’m always happy to help guide you.

  • At this time, Family Sessions are designed for immediate families only. This allows us to focus on connection and keep the experience relaxed and enjoyable for everyone.

That said, if you have a special grandparent or two you’d love to include, I’m always happy to accommodate that.

  • I love when clients ask this questions!

After booking, you’ll receive simple, thoughtful guidance to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully together without feeling overly styled or stressful. I always recommend soft, neutral tones, textures, and pieces that allow for movement.

The goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and like yourself.

  • If you’ve read anything on this page, you will see that this is never a concern, because they don’t need to.

Some of the most meaningful images come from movement, laughter, and even a little chaos. I gently guide your session in a way that allows kids to be themselves while still creating beautiful, connected images.

There’s no pressure for perfect behavior… just space for real moments.

  • Most family sessions last about 45 minutes to an hour.

This gives us plenty of time for a mix of natural interaction, gentle guidance, and a variety of images, without it feeling overwhelming for little ones.
