Hi Friends!

I am so excited to finally share the details for our first annual Destination Family Sessions, and this year we are heading to the coast!!

The Oregon coast holds many special memories for me, and I imagine it probably does for many of you too. My heart behind these sessions was to create something that feels more like an experience than just another evening of photos. Something that marks a season in your life. Images that grace your home. Images that take you right back to that evening every time you see them.

This is not your typical family session.

This is an extended coastal storytelling session beginning around 6:00pm and lasting about 1.5 to 2 hours. We will take our time. Children can run through the sand, splash in the gentle creek, and explore the shoreline while we wait for the sun to begin sinking behind the rocks.

We will focus on connection. Lingering hugs. Quiet glances. Hands on backs. The way your family naturally moves together.

You will receive direction from me throughout the session, but most of the time I will simply ask you to forget I am there and enjoy being together.

These sessions include far more than just digital images.

I want these sessions to feel extraordinary and deeply memorable. I want you to proudly showcase these photographs on your walls for years and years. I want you to be absolutely obsessed with them. I want you to have a keepsake album that your kids will ask to look through again and again, and someday one that you can pass down to them.

Because of that, I take a much more hands-on approach with these sessions.

After booking, we will schedule a call to talk through your vision and I will personally help guide outfit selections so everything photographs beautifully along the coast.

After your session, we will meet for your Image Reveal and Design Appointment, where I will present your photographs through a slideshow set to music (and yes… tears may absolutely happen). Then I will guide you through selecting your favorite images and designing artwork for your home, along with your family album.

Everything about these sessions is thoughtful, intentional, and carefully guided so that what you leave with is not just photographs, but artwork your family will treasure for a lifetime.

So this means availability will be very limited. This is going to be the best kind of adventure, and I absolutely cannot wait. These Oregon Coast Family Photography Sessions are designed for your immediate family.

I am open to including one or two grandparents if that is meaningful to you, but the heart of these sessions is focused on connection, play, and intimate moments rather than organizing large groups.

These Sessions Are For Families Who…

  • Want something extra special this year… something beyond our typical time together.

  • Feel their children are at an age they want to remember forever. The way they look at you, hug you, and run into your arms. If you already know your heart will ache a little ten years from now when you think back to the days when you could still carry them, these sessions are for you

  • Love the idea of photographs that feel natural and alive. Images of your family playing, running, exploring, and laughing together rather than simply standing and smiling at the camera. (Although of course, we will capture a few of those too.)

  • See the value in filling their home with meaningful photographs. The kind you walk past every day and remember exactly how it felt to be there.

  • Want a session this year that truly stands out in your family memories.

  • Are comfortable getting a little sandy, a little silly, and embracing the beautiful chaos that comes with raising kids. Those moments often make the best photographs.

  • Because the truth is, the season you are in right now will quietly pass before you even realize it… and someday these photographs will bring you right back to it.

What to Expect at The Coast

  • Wind and Movement
    It’s the Oregon coast, which means there will almost certainly be wind. Think soft movement in dresses, hair blowing in the breeze, and that wild, beautiful coastal energy that makes beach photographs feel alive.

  • Layers and Texture
    Even in August, the coast can cool down quickly in the evenings. Light sweaters, cardigans, blankets, and cozy textures photograph beautifully and help everyone stay comfortable as the sun lowers.

  • Bare Feet and Play
    Expect sand between your toes and kids running freely along the shoreline. These sessions are designed for movement, play, and connection rather than standing still and smiling at the camera.

  • Documentary-Inspired Moments
    These sessions focus on the real moments. Running together, laughing, hugging, exploring the creek, and simply being together. I will absolutely guide you throughout the session, but the goal is to capture your family as you naturally interact.

  • Making a Night of It
    Some families may choose to drive out for the evening, while others may enjoy booking a nearby hotel or Airbnb and turning the session into a little coastal getaway. With sessions scheduled midweek, lodging rates are often more affordable and the beaches much quieter.

Why Fogarty Beach?

Fogarty beach has a shallow, slow-moving creek that children naturally gravitate toward. It’s one of the most family-friendly coastal areas in Oregon. And because of this, by evening, crowds thin dramatically as everyone heads home. This will allow us to spread out, and enjoy the beach mostly to ourselves! Another reason is there’s a shaded rocky area we will utilize while we wait for the light to lower.

There is a 10ish minute walk from the parking area to the photoshoot area. Bathrooms are available at the parking area, but not near where we will be shooting. I will bring a stocked wagon with blankets, water, snacks, towels, and essentials so you can focus entirely on your family.

Why August? August typically brings the driest, warmest coastal evenings, and weekday scheduling means lighter traffic and lower hotel rates if you choose to stay. It is before school starts back up again, and it is our best chance at sun and warm weather.

Your Kids Will Remember This Day

They will remember the feeling of running barefoot across the sand.
The wind in their hair.
The way you laughed when they splashed in the creek.
The way you scooped them up and held them close as the sun started to set.

These sessions are about capturing those little in-between moments that quietly become the memories your family carries forward.

Someday your children will flip through the album from this evening and remember exactly how it felt to be small, to be loved, and to be together at the coast. And then one day, even later on, these photographs will mean just as much to them, as they already do to you. 🤍
