Trust me. You won't get much sleep this first year...…and when new mom’s are utterly exhausted, one of the first things to go is the memory side of her brain.
Baby milestone photography celebrates every stage, whether it’s 6 month portraits, 8 month sitter sessions, or first birthday photos you’ll treasure forever.
Take it from a mom of twins, this first year will move faster than anything you have ever experienced.
One minute you are on maternity leave. The next, you are scheduling daycare tours. Suddenly they are sitting up. Then crawling. Then pulling to stand.
And you find yourself folding their 12-18 month old clothes, wondering how it is already their first birthday. You will make an emotional post on social media, and use a cell phone photo you took last week in between cleaning the kitchen and drinking your cold coffee.

Designed for Every Stage of Babyhood
Early Milestones (3–4 Months)
This is when those first real smiles begin to appear. Bright eyes, gentle expressions, and the sweetest little coos as they start to recognize you. These sessions are simple and connection-focused, capturing the very beginning of their personality.
Sitter Sessions (6–8 Months)
One of the most loved stages. Your baby is sitting up, putting toys in their mouth, grabbing their toes, a face full of expression, and completely full of giggles. Those chunky thighs, curious looks, and wobbly little sits are fleeting and so worth documenting.
One Year & First Birthday Sessions
Your baby is no longer quite a baby. Standing, maybe taking those first steps, and full of curiosity. These sessions are a beautiful way to pause and take it all in.
1 Year Sessions can be done indoors, or outdoors depending on time of year, or preference.
You also have the option to add a simple cake smash at the end if you’d like a more playful way to celebrate. Some of my clients have opted for a watermelon smash, steak smash, donut smash, or yogurt/ice cream smash! I also have a faux cake that I can also use for photos. I do ask clients to bring any food related items. Or you can keep it clean and timeless without one. Either way, the focus stays on your baby and this milestone moment.
A Simple, Guided Process for tired parents
1. Reserve Your Session
Most families book their baby’s milestone session a few months in advance. Once you’re booked, I’ll send over a short questionnaire so I can learn your style, preferences, and vision.
2. Planning Made Easy
For studio sessions, everything is provided for you. From soft, timeless setups to a curated baby wardrobe and simple props. If you’re planning an outdoor session, I’ll guide you on exactly what to bring so everything feels cohesive and effortless.
3. Session Day
Sessions are quick at only around 1 hour. I have you bring baby fed and rested, and I am ready to go when you get here. Typically I only need about 45 minutes to get everything I need so I work quick! I always allow time for your baby to warm up to me in the beginning. If baby is still a wobbly sitter, I will have you help with spotting, and making sure an extra hand is always there.
4. Your Gallery & Image Selection
This process is different from my newborn sessions! About a week after your session, you’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view your images, choose your favorites, and select the collection that fits your needs. I will then edit the images you choose.
Heirloom artwork and prints are always available if you’d like to add them, but there’s no pressure. You can keep things simple, or build something more over time.

Baby Milestone Sessions are most commonly scheduled around 6 months and 1 year, but they can truly be done anytime during the first year. I have some client do 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 Year. So it is really up to you!

Both options are available, depending on the time of year, and preference.
Studio sessions take place in my Salem studio, where everything is provided for you. You’ll have access to my baby wardrobe, props, and thoughtfully styled setups, so you don’t need to bring a thing unless you’d like to.
For outdoor sessions, baby must be sitting unassisted. I bring along simple props and blankets, and I’ll guide you on what to bring for outfits so everything photographs beautifully.
Studio sessions are scheduled at 10am, while outdoor sessions begin about two hours before sunset to take advantage of that soft, golden light.

For studio sessions, I offer a curated baby wardrobe, so you don’t need to bring anything unless you want to. For outdoor sessions, I’ll help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully and feel true to your family.

Yes. A cake smash can be added to the end of your one year session, either in studio or outdoors. For allergy and safety reasons, I ask that you provide the cake. I have darling birthday backdrops you can choose from for a studio session.

While these sessions are centered around your baby, we can always include a few simple, meaningful parent and even sibling images if you’d like.
